Home remedies for asthma

Asthma means panting and/or short drawn breath and is a condition that primarily affects the lungs. People who are affected with asthma have extra sensitive nose that causes a lot of discomfort to them. The discomfort is caused due to the narrowing of the passage as well as due to the obstructions caused.

There are a number of home remedies for treating asthma in people:

- Firstly steam inhalation is a good remedy as it helps to alleviate the symptoms that include clogging of the nose passages as well as the wind pipe. Steam baths, hip baths etc. which enable the body to perspire are good in treating such conditions.
- Garlic and cloves that have been boiled in a glass of milk are beneficial in treating such disorders.
- Ginger tea with mint leaves and cloves is a very good treatment for this condition.
- Turmeric in hot milk along with honey is a good remedy for this condition.
- Add a bit of licorice root in hot water and keep for 10 minutes. Then strain the solution and drink the collected liquid. This is good for treating such ailments effectively.
- Chewing of fennel seeds helps in expelling the mucus collected in the air passages.
