Jet lag is becoming a common problem nowadays. With long distance traveling becoming easier and cheaper, more and more people are taking up traveling to afar place. The side effect of such long hours of traveling is jet lag. When you travel to a different continent you enter a different time zone than. Our body follows a certain biological clock and takes some time to get used to the new time zone. The symptoms are fatigue, temporary insomnia, grogginess, digestive problems, irritability, headache, irregular sleep patterns, disorientation and mild depression.

The best way to minimize the effects of jet lag is to take precautionary measures before boarding the flight and during the flight. It is always good to have a good night’s sleep before the traveling day. Also keeping a fast on the day of the travel is better as this will keep your body light during the journey. Try having heavier meals on the previous day so it helps in fasting on the traveling day. This will ensure that your body is revitalized properly. Drinking enough water prior and during the flight will always help you remain calm and controlled. Avoid intake of alcohol and caffeine during the flight as the consumption of such substances will only deteriorate your condition once the journey is over.
